Reunion Mortgage is a residential mortgage lender headquartered in Northern California. Founded in 1999, Reunion serves much of the United States through three wholesale offices and a growing team of wholesale Account Executives.
Reunion’s strong focus on quality files and credit-conscious borrowers has enabled us to thrive, even during tumultuous times in the mortgage industry. In 2006, Reunion introduced a paperless loan process to expedite loan fundings and reduce expenses. In 2009, Reunion launched Servicing Retained Production, selling loans and retaining the servicing through a nationally-recognized sub-servicer. This expansion brought numerous benefits to Reunion, including enhanced pricing and a new revenue stream.
In 1999, Reunion began with basic Conforming Fixed and ARM products, and quickly added Jumbo loans. Other products came and went, and at the end of 2007, Reunion added FHA loans. In January 2009, Reunion was one of the first lenders to offer Fannie Mae’s HomePath® Mortgage. A year later, Reunion began offering VA loans. Today, Reunion has a broad product line and continues to focus on “A” paper products and borrowers.
Reunion has become a recognized leader in the mortgage industry, maintaining long-term committed partnerships with broker clients, investors and government agencies.
Our Mission Statement
Our charter is to cultivate valuable partnerships within the mortgage industry by consistently exceeding the expectations of our clients, our affiliates and our employees. Our superior service and our success are a direct result of our commitment to the principles of honesty, integrity, fairness and teamwork. Our name reflects these values…a reunion of mortgage professionals on whom you can rely.
Our Founders
Dave Thayer and Kent Harvey have known each other for over 35 years, and share core values and a similar business philosophy. They have created a company that is dedicated to providing quality to its investors, service to its customers, efficiency of operations, and growth opportunities for all its shareholders and staff.
Dave spent 20 years in the retail mortgage industry, then built his first wholesale mortgage division for STM Mortgage in 1990. Kent joined the company in 1993 to provide marketing and sales leadership, and led the firm in national wholesale production.
In 1996, Marsha Berlinski joined the team in an expansion venture with First Union (now Wells Fargo). Dave developed a highly successful regional branch network, while Kent continued providing market leadership and set new standards for wholesale production. Marsha’s leadership and expertise brought new levels of quality and service to the wholesale operation. The team continued to perfect their principles of successful wholesale mortgage banking at First Union, while gaining national recognition for volume, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
In the Spring of 1999, the trio decided to build their own company. Their combined 70 years of mortgage experience enabled them to solicit top performers to join the team, and the result was a “reunion”—a reunion of friends and co-workers who share core values and business principles, and a belief that together we can achieve great success! |
